Chaukhamba i.e., the four pillars is an all India NGO registered under the societies registration Act XX1 of 1860. The four pillars of Chukhamba are, equity, justice, awareness and sustainable development. It is a non profit making independent, democratic, non sectarian people’s organization.
Chaukhamba's focus and entry point is the school children; unit of development is the family and community movilization is the approach, through which empowerment, capacity building and social transformation are attempted. Hence it is a long-term strategy for emancipating the whole community, through interventions at three levels i.e., the child, the family and & the community with extra emphasis on child specially girl child, rural child and disabled child.
