With financial support from Uttarakhand State Aids Control Society (USACS) and technical support from PHFI, Chaukhamba has been implementing the targeted Intervention Programme of NACO under Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) component in Haridwar City of Uttarakhand. IDUs bear a heightened risk of HIV infection and emerged as an important route in the HIV transmission dynamics in India. Though the current number of IDUs in India is 200,000, the HIV prevalence among IDUs is very high. We are working with 324 live active population of IDUs out of which till February 2019 total PLHIV 61 and linked to ART 57.
